Services we offer
counselling
What is counselling?
Counselling is a process that enables you to talk about the
problems and difficulties you may have in your life. Our counsellors assist
you, through talking, to
look at the areas of your life you want to change or deal with differently.
We can help you to explore your situation and help you to understand your
self and your life better. You may then choose to make changes in your life.
Will the counsellor tell me how to solve my problems?
No. We will help you to
explore different ways of dealing with your situation but the choices you
make and the changes you decide to make, if any, are
yours.
Will I have to talk about things that I would prefer not to?
No. The counsellor
will encourage you to talk about your life, and to become aware of your feelings
but you will never be made to feel you have to discuss
anything you do not want to. How often can I see the counsellor? This will
be agreed between yourself and the counsellor. These arrangements are flexible
and will be reviewed in your sessions at regular intervals.
What can I expect to happen when I am referred for counselling?
At your initial
appointment you will have the chance to ask your counsellor any questions
you may have about the service and they will also explain about
counselling in more detail.
